We are looking for an experienced Interim Leader to steer our Savings Operations team, ensuring excellent support across both our Branch network and Digital/Central engagement teams. You will oversee essential back-office administrative and service functions for our Savings business, focusing on delivering positive outcomes for customers while maintaining rigorous operational risk management and full compliance with ISA manager requirements.

Reporting to the Head of Savings Distribution and Operations, you’ll step in as their deputy, ensuring seamless leadership and continuity. This interim position is perfect for a results-driven professional with a strong track record in operations management and a passion for people and customer-focused excellence.

Here’s a taste of what you will be doing as a Senior Savings Operations Manager at Nottingham Building Society: -

  • Ensure that good customers outcomes are delivered, and SLAs are maintained across the Digital and Savings team, devising plans and strategies where issues arise.
  • Set a culture of effective people leadership to enable you and your team to thrive in.
  • Coach and develop your team to ensure they can deliver their best work, ensuring colleagues maintain appropriate knowledge, skills and behaviour in line with required functional and Society wide capabilities.
  • Develop, manage, and support delivery of the functional induction and training plans that ensure team members gain and maintain competence with procedural and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage a highly functioning Quality control framework that works alongside the Society’s T&C scheme and that provides assurance around risk, quality and conduct areas.
  • Lead the implementation and embedding of new policies and procedures for the Savings business supporting your team to build a culture where Risk is embedded in our business.
  • Develop appropriate MI with your team for reporting mechanisms to inform and provide assurance of good customers outcomes to the leadership team.
  • Work with Compliance Advisory to analyse regulatory changes impacting the function (through consultation and policy documents) and put in place action for compliance with the changes.
  • Manage the completion of corrective actions (Audit, Compliance, Risk) for the Branch support and Digital/Central engagement teams.

About you: -

  • Strong knowledge of our sector and extensive leadership experience in a transferable role with a focus on operations.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, risk management, and compliance for financial operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Training & Competency Frameworks
  • The drive to identify and facilitate improvements to ensure that individuals/teams are doing the right thing and both our internal and external customers are treated fairly.
  • Proven success in establishing key relationships and exhibiting advanced influencing skills with all levels of management and leadership within the organisation,
  • Excellent leadership capacity, including strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate people and drive outstanding performance.
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulatory requirements.
  • In depth understanding of how to access, analyse and interpret raw data and output to inform key decisions.
