 We are growing our Compliance team at The Nottingham and have a brand-new position available for a Deputy Data Protection Officer!! You will play an integral role providing professional advice and support to the Society; you will have a strong customer and business focus working to mitigate liabilities associated with data protection non-compliance.

Our Compliance team do a fantastic job safeguarding the Society; you will be joining a supportive and collaborative team pushing for the best outcomes for our customers by keeping the Society safe and secure.

 Here’s a taste of what you will be doing as a Deputy Data Protection Officer at The Nottingham: -

  • You will drive, champion and implement exceptional data protection practices across the Society and with our external partners.
  • We are a people focused organisation and believe great teamwork delivers great outcomes. You will collaborate with stakeholders and build internal relationships to help the society deliver its strategic objectives whilst complying with legislation and regulations.
  • The Deputy DPO role is responsible for managing and maintaining guidance and policies to ensure that how we work keeps pace with technological, legislative, and best practice developments. Horizon scanning and understanding and communicating external changes in legislation and regulation is key.
  • You will collaborate with stakeholders and different business areas on upcoming projects linked to legislation/ business changes. This role will also provide subject matter expertise on Society wide projects and initiatives in relation to data protection.
  • You will develop a suite of meaningful MI and use data and insight to support and inform stakeholders across the business. 

About you: -

  •  We are looking for an experienced data protection practitioner with knowledge and experience of data protection and information rights legislation.
  • You will be able to communicate complex/technical matters and convey messages in a way that they are understood and acted upon by stakeholders.
  • You will be confident to lead as a technical expert and make decisions autonomously using data, insight and stakeholder input.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role. You will have the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
