We are on the look out for a Cost Business Partner to help us with that mission, primarily focused on Tech and Transformation the successful candidate will have great opportunities to work with SMEs across the business and be a key partner of our CTO.
If you have experience of smashing out cost month ends, are able to understand and tell the story of what is actually happening and love nothing more than partnering with the business to build (and deliver) compelling business case then we want to hear from you!
Here’s a taste of what you will be doing as a Finance Business Partner (Tech & Investments) at Nottingham Building Society: -
- Financial Leadership: Leads on finance aspects of business cases and ensures accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
- Cost Reporting & Budgeting: Contributes to the design and improvement of cost reporting and budgeting systems for the Tech business area.
- Efficiency & Cost Control: Drives cost control initiatives and recommends efficiency improvements using benchmarking and analysis.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partners with key head office stakeholders and leadership teams to support financial performance and project delivery.
- Reporting & Insight: Produces payroll and non-payroll cost reports, and provides financial insight and challenge to stakeholders.
- Governance & Support: Maintains finance controls and policies, supports project cost analysis, and assists the Head of FP&A with financial reporting tasks.
- Annual Budget Oversight: Manages a total spend across multiple senior stakeholders.
- No Direct Reports: The role does not have any staff directly reporting to the jobholder.
About you: -
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting systems, budget processes, cost management and capital item treatment
- Industry Experience: Familiar with building society operations and internal reporting deadlines
- Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with A level education and good GCSEs in maths and English
- Professional Experience: Moderate experience in accounting and cost management with a focus on financial accuracy and control
- Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communicator with experience influencing stakeholders and presenting financial insight
- Collaboration and Change: Skilled in cross functional working, supporting change and driving efficiencies through continuous improvement
- Delivery and Planning: Capable of meeting deadlines, managing dependencies and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders
