At Nottingham Building Society our talent acquisition approach is rooted in openness and inclusive hiring, so even if you don’t feel you tick every box, we’d still genuinely love to hear from you.

We’re looking for an Engineering Delivery Manager to lead engineering capability, optimise resource allocation, and ensure high‑quality delivery across multiple teams. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Head of Engineering and Principal Engineers to translate strategy into execution, ensuring teams are aligned, well‑resourced, and delivering consistently.

You’ll champion strong engineering practices, drive a high‑performance culture, and take ownership of delivery quality, risk management, and governance. If you excel at turning strategy into outcomes and supporting teams to perform at their best, we’d love to hear from you.

Here’s a taste of what you will be doing as a Engineering Delivery Manager at Nottingham Building Society:

    • Capacity & Resource Management: Manage engineering capacity across teams and balance resources based on business priorities.
    • Strategic Engineering Alignment: Partner with the Head of Engineering and Principal Engineers to communicate engineering direction and expectations.
    • BAU Delivery Oversight: Work with the service desk to drive effective delivery of BAU tickets across engineering platforms.
    • Delivery Excellence Leadership: Champion continuous improvement and ensure agreed ways of working are consistently adopted.
    • Performance & Predictability Improvement: Drive enhancements in delivery performance, predictability, and operational efficiency.
    • KPI Development & Tracking: Collaborate with engineering leadership to establish and monitor KPIs for delivery health, risk, and maturity.
    • Visibility, Risk & Dependency Management: Maintain oversight of progress, dependencies, and risks to enable timely decision‑making.
    • Escalation & Issue Resolution: Act as an escalation point to remove blockers and ensure engineering outcomes align with business and regulatory goals.
    About you:
    • Modern Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of modern engineering practices, delivery models, and Agile environments.
    • Risk & Governance Awareness: Experience working in regulated or risk‑aware settings with solid knowledge of governance, risk, and control frameworks.
    • Influencing Technical Leadership: Proven ability to work with and influence senior engineers, Principal Engineers, and technical leaders.
    • Stakeholder & Communication Strength: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and build strong relationships.
    • Commercial & Prioritisation Mindset: Commercially aware with a structured approach to prioritising work and balancing competing demands.
    • Engineering Delivery Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading engineering delivery teams, managing resource allocation, and driving performance improvement.
    • Behavioural Strengths: Takes ownership, makes clear decisions, stays calm under pressure, and builds trust through consistency and transparency.

    Reward & Benefits:

    • Competitive Package: Fair salary benchmarked against market data, annual discretionary bonus, and 29 days holiday plus bank holidays.
    • Health & Wellbeing: Access to Medicash healthcare, mental health first aiders, and a suite of wellbeing resources to support you inside and outside of work.
    • Work-Life Balance: 35-hour working week for full-time roles, with flexibility to help you perform at your best.
    • Career Growth: Ongoing personal and professional development, we’ll support your ambitions and help you grow your potential.
    • Inclusive Culture: Be part of a friendly, values-led team that genuinely cares about doing the right thing for colleagues and customers.
    • Giving Back: Use two paid volunteering days each year to support causes close to your heart, through our Samuel Fox Foundation.
    • Sustainability Focus: Join a business committed to reducing its carbon footprint and making a positive impact on the environment.
    • Free access to Octopus Money: Financial coaching & tools that help you plan, manage, and make the most of your money.
