We’re looking for a dynamic Senior Test Analyst to play a key role in ensuring the quality of our products and driving excellence across our testing function. In this role, you’ll design and execute manual test cases, create smart test data, track progress, and provide clear, actionable reporting that keeps projects moving.
You’ll lead test activity with confidence stepping in for the Test Manager when needed, guiding Test Analysts, and working closely with stakeholders to make informed, risk‑based decisions. Your expertise with industry‑standard tools and frameworks will help shape a smooth, reliable end‑to‑end testing process in collaboration with our IT teams and third‑party partners.

Here’s a taste of what you will be doing as a Senior Test Analyst at Nottingham Building Society:
- Test Planning Leadership: Lead and organise test planning across Agile and Waterfall projects using appropriate tools and frameworks.
- Test Execution: Execute thorough manual testing to ensure high‑quality, reliable software delivery.
- Requirements Analysis: Analyse functional, non‑functional and technical specs/user stories to derive clear test cases and scenarios.
- Test Data Preparation: Prepare accurate input test data and expected results for all test phases.
- Defect Management: Identify, log and manage defects, working with project teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Quality Reviews: Participate in document and peer reviews to support quality assurance across the lifecycle.
- Workload Ownership: Plan and manage your own workload to meet project timelines and priorities.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process improvements and recommend enhancements to strengthen testing quality and efficiency.
About you:
- Test Design & Analysis: Skilled in reviewing requirements, user stories and technical documents to create valuable manual and automated test scenarios.
- Test Planning & Tool Proficiency: Able to produce accurate test estimates, plans and scripts using modern test tools, frameworks and methodologies (Agile & Waterfall).
- Technical Testing Expertise: Strong understanding of functional, non‑functional, compatibility and regression testing, with solid defect management capability.
- Hands‑On Testing Delivery: Experienced in writing and executing both manual and automated tests across customer‑facing and backend systems.
- Communication & Stakeholder Influence: Exceptional communicator who can lead, motivate teams, challenge constructively and build effective cross‑business relationships.
- Business & Lifecycle Knowledge: Deep understanding of systems analysis, QA processes, project lifecycles and change management principles.
- Analytical Mindset & Self‑Management: Logical problem solver with excellent attention to detail, able to manage workload, meet tight deadlines and thrive in fast‑paced environments.
- Leadership & Professional Credentials: Capable of deputising for the Test Manager, driving quality throughout delivery; holds ISTQB Intermediate (or equivalent) and educated to A‑level or ideally degree level.
